We’re in the midst of quite the heat wave right now in New England. I imagine lots of folks will be heading to the beach today, tomorrow and this weekend to escape the heat.
There is no shortage of great beaches along the coast, but don’t overlook the state’s lakes, ponds and rivers.
On the Trustees of Reservations website, you can search for conservation areas that allow swimming, boating and paddling (go to Search by Activity). The Department of Conservation and Recreation also has plenty of public beaches and ponds that are watched by lifeguards.
